How to use TP Level Plus
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Identify and mark the high and low spots on the floor. Some floors may have more than one high and low point.
All surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, and free from any contaminants that would interfere with bonding. Concrete must be fully cured, on or above grade, and not subject to hydrostatic pressure. Plywood floors must be built to industry standards. Sheet vinyl, vinyl composition tile and wood flooring should be solidly bonded and stripped of old finishes prior to coating. Do not sand any floors which are known or suspected to contain asbestos. Level Plus and the substrate should at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use. Apply at temperatures 45 - 90°F.
VERY IMPORTANT: STIRRING INSTRUCTIONS:
While Level Plus is pre-formulated, doesn’t require priming or additives, it will require stirring in order to break up any sand which may have settled on the bottom of the bucket to enhance performance. For best results stirring one and two-gallon buckets, use an electric drill with a small spiral paint mixing paddle.
|
1. Turn container upside down. Firmly strike the container downward on the lid holding container 3-4 inches from floor. Repeat until product releases from container bottom. |

2. Once the sand has broken free from the bottom of the bucket, roll the container back and forth on its side for approximately 60 seconds. Upon opening the container, you will find that the unstirred sand based product must still be thoroughly stirred with the milky liquid that sits on top of the sand mix. The consistency of the unstirred product will be stiff and heavy in the bottom of the bucket due to settling during transport. |
|
3. If you are stirring a quart container (and you don’t have a small spiral paint mixer) use a standard screwdriver to break up the sand in the bottom of the container. Then stir the product thoroughly with a paint stick until product has a uniform consistency, without milky liquid or clumps. |

IMPORTANT: If you are using more than one bucket, stir all of the buckets prior to first pour. |
4. For optimum ease and thoroughness of stirring 1 gallon or 2 gallon size containers, we recommend the use of a small 2- 3” diameter spiral paint mixer (fig. 4) and a variable speed drill. Be sure to hold bucket securely in place between your feet during stirring. Run mixer at a low speed until product is fully stirred to a uniform consistency with no milky liquid or clumps. |
|
When Using as a Self Leveler: Thoroughly sweep or vacuum floor area. Follow stirring instructions. Wipe area of floor where pour will take place with a lightly wrung damp sponge to assist product flow. For extremely porous substrates use more water. Working in an area no larger than 25 square feet, pour Level Plus over the marked low spot of floor. Do not attempt to spread product more than 6-8 feet at a time. |

Side by side pours must be applied no more than 5-10 minutes apart to ensure a seamless finish and prevent a rough surface. Overlap side by side pours by 1-3 inches. Single pour should not exceed ½” thickness. Using a finishing trowel, feather outside edge of pour to allow for better product flow. |
| Level Plus will dry to a rock hard finish within 16-24 hours. If a second layer is required, it may be applied once the first pour has fully cured. Dry times will vary depending on thickness, ambient temperatures, relative humidity and porosity of substrate conditions. If sanding is required, it must be done within 24 hours of application. | ![]() |

When Using to Skim Coat:
Follow surface preparation and stirring instructions before pouring product. Pour Level Plus onto surface working in area no larger than 5-10 square feet at a time. Holding a finishing trowel at approximately 30º, pull product toward you. Apply a minimum of 1/8” of Level Plus on floor surface to ensure a clean finish. Allow 2-4 hours for dry time. If sanding is required, it must be done within 24 hours of application. |
|
When Using as a Floor Patch:
Follow surface preparation and stirring instructions before pouring product. Pour Level Plus onto damaged area of floor at its lowest point. Level Plus will seek much of its own level within minutes. Feather outside of pour with finishing trowel to ensure a seamless finish with original floor. Dry time is 16-24 hours depending on thickness of the patch. If sanding is required, it must be done within 24 hours of application. |
